A small handheld
video game console device produced
by Nintendo. The Wii is the successor to the Nintendo GameCube, and features a
wireless controller, a
wiimote that can be used as a
pointing device, and WiiConnect24, which is primarily used for
Internet messaging and product updates. The Wii is
also called
Nintendo Wii by consumers. However, the correct name is Wii
making this the first console to be released by Nintendo without the inclusion
of the company's name in the actual product name. The Wii was released in North
America in November 2006.
